Ellen Johns - Kindergarten

Ellen Johns is excited to be the kindergarten teacher at Saint Gabriel, as it brings her back to where she started her career! Her first job after graduating with her BA from the College of New Rochelle was as a kindergarten teacher at Saint Pancras Catholic School in Queens, New York.  She followed those wonderful years by attending the University of North  Carolina- Chapel Hill to earn her Master's Degree in Literacy Studies.  "GO TAR HEELS!"

She continued her teaching in public schools, catholic school, and charter school - as a reading resource teacher for kindergarten through second grade. She also came to love the Core Knowledge curriculum as a second grade teacher.  Her path then brought her to Nevada with her husband where she was blessed to be a stay at home mom with her daughter.  Her daughter is now enrolled at Saint Gabriel!

Ellen and her family attend Saint Francis of Assisi in Henderson, where she has served as a catechist for the kindergarten children in the faith formation program.  She and her family love visiting the beach, spending quiet time at home, reading, swimming, and Ellen loves to bake or do crafts in her spare time.
