Mrs. Shira Wise was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She attended the University of Washington where she received her undergraduate degree. She then attended Central Washington University for her master’s degree in education. Mrs. Wise began teaching in 1996 at Cle Elum Roslyn High School in Washington where she was also the high school cheerleading coach. She was a chosen as a 2002 Fulbright Memorial Fund Scholarship recipient traveling and learning in Japan. Mrs. Wise holds teaching certificates in both Nevada and Washington for middle school mathematics, science, English language arts, and foreign language.
Mrs. Wise was baptized and joined the Catholic Church at age 20, and her faith serves as a compass for everything she does. She was awarded the Cardinal George Medallion by Bishop Tyson for lifetime service to her diocese. She and her husband were coordinators for their high school youth group, as well as speakers for the Engaged Encounter retreats.
Mrs. Wise and her husband live in Henderson, and have four children ages 15, 12, 10, and 8.
